Bears Rumors: 5 players Chicago could trade during 2024 offseason

Just because they didn't trade these guys at the deadline doesn't mean they are safe going into 2024.

5. Justin Fields, QB

Finally, we come to everyone's favorite topic: the quarterback position. Justin Fields' recent injury has brought some odd and untimely questions about his future in Chicago. Tyson Bagent had one decent game, and all of the sudden people question whether or not Fields should be replaced.

Bagent's second start against the Chargers, though, didn't go so well. If you ask me, that should have shut the door on any "Bagent over Fields" talk. Still, the possibility of the Bears trading Fields this offseason and going a totally different route at quarterback seems real.

The public smearing of Fields on national television didn't help his cause in sticking around, and quite honestly, it was disgusting and uncalled for.

This regime has proved they are not devoted to Fields by the way Poles has failed to successfully build around him, specifically up front, and his hiring of Luke Getsy. It's been Getsy who has been the biggest detriment to Fields, too, as he has failed to cater to Fields' strengths. Instead, Getsy wants to fit a quarterback to his own system, which is the wrong way of doing things in today's league.

I would love for Fields to stick around and for the Bears to find the right coach to fit alongside him. But, that doesn't seem like it's going to happen.
