4 trades the Chicago Bears could make before Week 1

Trade Number 4: The Bears make a huge splash, trading for Jonathan Taylor
Finally, we come to the trade that would have Bears fans salivating. Jonathan Taylor is likely going to be traded in the coming days, but the question is, to where? The Colts have given him permission to go seek out a trade partner, but the problem is, Indianapolis has stated they want a first-round pick in return.
Teams don't pay running backs these days, let alone offer up first-round picks for a veteran at the position. Taylor is 24 years old and still has three years, or so, before he hits that worrisome age where running backs typically fall off.
Right now is certainly the right window for the Colts to entertain a trade, if they ever were going to. The Bears could offer them their current starter in Khalil Herbert, plus a second and fifth-round pick. That seems more than fair, and a pretty generous package compared to what other teams might offer.
Indianapolis gets a starting running back with two years left on his deal.
Meanwhile, the Bears have to figure out what Taylor's new contract would look like. I can't tell you what that might look like, but I can tell you it's going to be a whole lot of fun watching he and Justin Fields in the same back field.
