Matchup No. 2: Patrick Mahomes vs. all the Chicago Bears

Baker Mayfield was the #1 pick in the NFL draft, but he's been a journeyman, middle-of-the-road quarterback at best. He carved the Bears up for over 300 yards last week. Patrick Mahomes is the best quarterback in the game. How can the Bears possibly stop him?

Mahomes is amazing, but he hasn't been crisp yet this season, and he's been let down by his weak supporting cast. Travis Kelce missed Week 1 with a bone bruise. Kadarius Toney played one of the worst football games in history against the Lions, almost single-handedly costing the Chiefs the game.

Kelce returned last week, but he wasn't quite his old dominant self. Mahomes spread the ball around, hitting nine different pass-catchers for two completions or more, but at the end of the day, the Chiefs were only able to score 17 points in Jacksonville.

The Bears had chances to sack Baker Mayfield this past Sunday, but Yannick Ngakoue came up empty twice when it appeared he had the Bucs' quarterback wrapped up. Jaquan Brisker dropped an interception in the game's opening minutes that could have turned into a pick-six. If the Bears have any hopes of slowing the Chiefs offense, they can't let chances like that slip through their fingers again.

I believe that the last time the Chiefs' offense had three subpar weeks in a row was the Romeo Crennel days, and after two lackluster games in a row, Andy Reid is surely looking at a home date against the Bears defense as the perfect chance get back on track. The Bears need to find a pass rush in this one, and they could use the same kind of help that Toney provided the Lions in Week 1, otherwise, it could be a long afternoon.
