Andy Heck becomes 2x Super Bowl winning coach
Following his retirement from the NFL, Heck has stayed very close to the game of football. Almost immediately after leaving the Redskins, Heck became a graduate assistant coach at Virginia, where he served for three seasons. From 2004 to 2012, Heck served as an offensive line coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars. In 2013, Heck agreed to join the Kansas City Chiefs as the team's offensive line coach.
With the Chiefs, Heck has won two Super Bowls, the first following the 2019 season and the second just a couple of months ago against the Philadelphia Eagles. The second championship may be more important for Heck's career as his offensive line unit finished the game by keeping a historically dominant Eagles' defensive line to zero sacks on the evening.
Outside of the Chiefs, Heck has ties in the NFL today, with his son serving as an offensive tackle for the Houston Texans. Born in Evanston, Illinois, Charlie Heck attended high school in Kansas City and played collegiately at the University of North Carolina before being drafted in 2020.
