Chicago Bears Countdown to Kickoff: 80 Days with Curtis Conway
By Peter Jurich
Curtis Conway spent seven seasons with the Chicago Bears
As a rookie, Conway had a solid 1993 season, appearing in all 16 of the team's games while contributing 275 offensive yards and two touchdowns. By the start of his second season, Conway had become a bonafide starter, and despite only being available for 13 games throughout the year, the receiver posted 577 yards and two touchdowns.
The 1995 season was perhaps Conway's best as a pro, with the receiver totaling over 1,100 yards and 12 offensive touchdowns in 16 starts. Conway followed up his career season with another 1,000+ yard year in 1996, but the following year would prove to have some adversity for the former USC Trojan.
In 1997, Conway started the first seven games of the year before suffering a season-ending knee injury. With under 500 yards, Conway finished the season with his second-worst totals to date but would enjoy a bounce back season in '98 when healthy, accumulating over 700 yards in 15 games as a starter.
