Chicago Bears schedule release video: Throwing it back to the 80s
The 2024 NFL Schedule was officially released on Wednesday, and many Chicago Bears fans are plotting ways for the team to reach the playoffs.
Of course, NFL Schedule release day has turned into a spectacle, with the team needing to make sure they are not the laughingstock of social media.
The Bears have gotten better at their schedule release videos as they drew inspiration from FX's popular show, The Bear, last season to reveal their 2023 NFL Schedule. It was a major improvement for a team that once used different paint schemes to reveal their schedule for the 2021 season, perhaps that should have been the first sign that the Justin Fields' era was going to end horribly.
Needless to say, the buzz from last season's schedule release video created excitement about what the Bears' marketing team had cooking this season.
The Bears' schedule release video is filled with nostalgia.
The teases for the Bears' 2024 schedule release video began on Monday.
Given the old school chalkboard that was used to hype the release of the schedule, it seemed that the Bears were preparing to throw it back to past to celebrate their future.
That seemingly was confirmed on Tuesday when the Bears paid homage to a movie that is engrained in Chicago history, Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
The tribute to Ferris Bueller did not stop there as the Bears' continued the teases with a callback to one of the popular scenes from the movie.
In one of the final teases leading into the schedule release, the Bears trolled some of their opponents for the 2024 season.
All this was leading to the grand reveal when the Bears officially released their 2024 schedule. A video that paid homage to many classic films from the 80s and 90s including The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and Home Alone.
