3. Cut Justin Jones

Look, Justin Jones provides some great headline quotes here and there. But, his performance on the field has been anything but great. In fact, he's been downright awful this season, and in both aspects of the game.

Against the run, Jones is easily pushed around and lacks real, strong effort in trying to move off blocks. He hasn't been much better rushing the passer, either.

Behind Jones, the Bears have rookie Gervon Dexter who could benefit from a heavy dose of playing time and leveling up as a starter. Dexter, a second-round pick in this year's draft, has shown early signs of becoming a future staple in this defense.

Chicago could then bring up seventh-round pick Travis Bell from the practice squad, who also showed some nice flashes during training camp and the preseason. This gives them a great look at a young player who could become part of their future, and would pan out to be a huge value after finding him so late in this year's draft.

Jones could then find another team to sign with, where he might show a little more effort if he has the chance to win; who knows. But, he becomes someone else's question mark and problem instead of Chicago's.
