2. Tremaine Edmunds improved greatly against the pass

While Tremaine Edmunds steadily improved in run defense, his first four seasons left many wanting more from Edmunds in coverage. That was one big thing that kept the Bills from extending him

Still, in 2022, it all came together, and the combination of size and athleticism finally played to his advantage in a way many figured it should have. Still, through four seasons Tremaine Edmunds had 13 pass breakups. Then, 2022 came and he put up 10 pass breakups just like that. For his career, he averages a 105 passer rating allowed. That includes an 80.4 allowed last season, which brought the number down significantly. It is the only season under 97.

It was a massive improvement. Obviously, you could wonder if this is legitimate or if he just put together one good year with the money on the line. His age and progression say that this could stick. Either way, the Chicago Bears added one of the best linebackers in coverage from the 2022 season. Considering they rarely take their linebackers off of the field this makes a lot of sense.
