3. Over or under 3,193 passing yards for Justin Fields in 2023

Justin Fields passed 1,000 passing yards as a rookie; he passed 2,000 in year two; now it is time for him to pass 3,000 yards passing in year three. Mike Clay sees it, and so do we. For this, it is easy to see the increase with the increase in attempts.

Still, Clay has Fields at 7.2 yards per attempt, and last year he was at the same rate. So, with more attempts, and getting the same big plays, he will see nearly 900 more passing yards this season.

This is a stat where you have to see Fields improve, but at the same time, the players around him should significantly help. If he was averaging this rate with Dante Pettis, Equanimeous St, Brown, and Velus Jones, he should be even better on a yards-per-attempt basis with Darnell Mooney, Chase Claypool, and DJ Moore.

That is also why Claly probably sees Fields keeping his rate despite throwing the ball over 100 more times next year. Still, we could see fewer attempts, but we could also see the yards per attempt go up. These would offset, and that may lead to us seeing Justin Fields go over in passing yards.
