2. Over or under 912 rushing yards for Justin Fields in 2023

Justin Fields ran for 1,143 yards last year. While fans embrace him running for 1,000 yards and realize that he made history, it is still something that they probably do not want to see again. Mike Clay agrees, and sees Fields at 912 yards. We agree and may even lean under.

First, Fields is going to pass more. Even if we see him with less than 120 more attempts through the air, there will be more passing, and maybe even 110 more passes. That is easily going to limit the rush attempts. Then, as we noted, they added more running backs.

They lost David Montgomery and his 200 carries, but D'onta Foreman had 200 carries last year, and they added Roschon Johnson on top of Foreman. There is almost no doubt that the Chicago Bears running backs will have more attempts this year than last year. So, Fields will throw more and hand off more. The Chicago Bears do not want him being Superman on every snap because he is human.

This should lead to Fields never topping 1,000 yards rushing again, but instead passing better and using this as a way to get 600-800 rushing yards.
