1.09: Rome Odunze, WR - Washington

With the Bears' second pick in the first round, Will Helm makes fans happy by giving Drake Maye another weapon to pair with DJ Moore. I thought Darnell Mooney would do enough this season to prove he's worthy of a second contract -- even as a WR2 or WR3. That did not happen and it is why I have wide receiver as the second-most important position to fill this offseason.

I am still working on my prospect rankings for 2024, but Rome Odunze is in the same tier as Malik Nabers who Pro Football Network had going sixth to the New York Giants. Of course, landing Marvin Harrison, Jr. would be ideal, but that will not happen if the Chicago Bears use the first pick on a quarterback. I have Harrison in a tier all by himself. He's a better prospect than Caleb Williams and the top left tackles. I see Harrison as a can't-miss prospect. Unfortunately, Pro Football Network has him going fourth overall to the Cardinals.

Pairing Maye and Rome Oduze together is a strong combination though. Odunze should be a great compliment across from DJ Moore. Odunze is a taller option at 6'3" and although he doesn't have blazing speed, he has some of the best hands in the draft. He can high-point the ball well and is able to come down with contested catches better than most of the other draft prospects.

I could definitely get behind these first two picks should Ryan Poles choose to go down this path. Drake Maye is likely to be a very good quarterback in the NFL. My only issue is that even though Caleb Williams is more likely to bust, he is also the most likely to become a superstar.
