3 things the Bears definitely won’t do in the 2024 NFL Draft

Whatever they do, it probably won't be one of these things...

Chicago definitely isn't taking a player not named Caleb Williams no. 1 overall

At this stage, anyone who believes the Bears are going to take anyone other than Caleb Williams with the no. 1 pick is delirious or looking for attention. Maybe, they are a bit of both.

Recently, we saw The Athletic come out with a piece that included 17 prominent NFL minds including ex-general managers, among other positions, all ranking this year's top three quarterbacks in Williams, Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels.

Three of those 17 individuals ranked Williams no. 3 behind Maye and Daniels. Even Bleacher Report recently mocked Drake Maye at no. 1 for the Bears.

My one and only question is: why?

Why try and play devil's advocate other than to seek attention? The writing is on the wall. Williams is coming to Chicago. The Bears have already begun familiarizing Williams with their scheme, personnel and staff. Heck, Keenan Allen came out to see Williams at his Pro Day.

The Bears didn't trade Justin Fields to take a chance on anyone named Maye or Daniels. We all know Williams is, by far and away, the best quarterback prospect of the last 10 years. There's no such thing as a "sure thing," but he's about as close as you can get.

Chicago isn't going any other direction. Don't get fooled into the unorthodox takes.
