4. Should Chicago Bears sign Tyquan Lewis or Ben Banogu?

We are technically cheating since we are naming two guys. However, they both fit as lower-end free agents who would not make waves if they were signed, but would certainly fit in the depth category.

Tyquan Lewis is probably the one who makes more sense. Lewis was drafted when Matt Eberflus was the Colts' defensive coordinator and spent the last five seasons with Indianapolis. Unfortunately, his fifth season did not end well. He tore his patellar tendon and will hope to be ready for training camp.

So, this will impact the Chicago Bears' interest. Still, it also may help them add Lewis, as he will be cheap to sign, and likely available around the draft. Lewis is a great depth addition and a much better-run defender than any of the edge rushers the team had last season. For a cheap price, they could get a solid depth option.

Ben Banogu had a disappointing career with the Indianapolis Colts, but you have to recognize that he was a top 50 pick, drafted in round two by the Indianapolis Colts. Entering year four, he saw a coaching change and now the writing is on the wall that he will not be back with the Colts. Eberflus wanted to see him develop more, but now he can sign him on the cheap for some depth help. Do not be surprised if Eberflus adds defensive line depth with some names that he knows well.
