Top 10 wide receivers in Chicago Bears history
By Ryan Heckman
9. Dick Gordon
As a seventh-round pick out of Michigan State back in 1965, Dick Gordon played a total of seven years with the Bears. He remained fairly quiet his first two seasons before being more integrated into the offense, and before you knew it, Gordon was a league-leader.
Gordon was a two-time Pro Bowl selection as well as an All Pro selection back in 1970, when he set career highs in receptions (71), receiving yards (1,026) and receiving touchdowns (13). That season, Gordon actually led the NFL in receptions and receiving touchdowns, believe it or not. Yes, a Bears wide receiver led the league in both of those categories -- I know, it's hard to imagine.
After that All Pro season in 1971, Gordon would go on to play for the Rams, Packers and Chargers. Although, he did next to nothing the remainder of his career.
As for his legacy in Chicago, Gordon ranks 12th all-time in Bears receiving yards with 3,550 on 238 receptions. He also caught 35 touchdowns.
