Top 10 wide receivers in Chicago Bears history
By Ryan Heckman
8. Devin Hester
I am somewhat cheating, here, just because Devin Hester has gone down as one of the most electric, exciting and flat-out talented players in the history of football. He did the majority of his damage as a kick returner, of course, and will forever be known as the greatest of all-time in that category. Hester finished his Bears career with 18 total return touchdowns and three All Pro nods.
As a receiver, though, people forget that this guy did make some big plays. He was mostly pure speed, sure, but Hester was a bit underrated as a receiving option. He ranks 21st all-time on the Bears' receiving list with 217 receptions for 2,807 yards and 14 receiving touchdowns.
To leave him off a list like this, especially with so few elite options, would be a misfire. Hester was a burner and an incredible return man, but he was, in fact, an integral part of the Bears' offense at times. From 2008-2010, Hester recorded at least 40 receptions in each season and finished with nearly 1,900 receiving yards in those three years.
