A Chicago Bears 4-Round Mock Draft

1st round - Paris Johnson, OT

2nd round - Felix Anudike-Uzomah, DE

3rd round - Emmanuel Forbes, CB

4th round - Matt Landers, WR

4th round - Juice Scruggs, C

One thing that needs to be emphasized about this draft that is not so obvious, is that between the top 3 offensive tackles in this draft, Paris Johnson is the only one that is being referred to by some draft experts as a potential future franchise left tackle. His height, extra long arms in combo with extraordinary agility for his size all screams to me loud and clear that he will become a franchise left tackle.

If a team has the opportunity to put together a QB with franchise potential and an LT with franchise potential, management owes it to the fans, the players and ownership to do whatever is reasonably possible to make this happen. The potential ripple effects of combining these two types of players on an offense in this pass-happy era could vault the Bears into becoming a member of the elite class of the NFL.

Moving on to other picks in this mock draft, cornerback should be addressed if the right player is available. I was hoping the Bears would sign a tall fast free agent cornerback or perhaps trade for one. However, this does not seem to be in the cards. So, the logic behind drafting Emmanuel Forbes is that he has some height at 6'1" with a blazing 4.35, 40-yard dash speed. He is also quite skinny at 166 pounds.
