3. The Bears could take a chance on DE Derek Barnett

Up until their game against Washington, the Bears have had an extremely difficutl time generating any sacks on the quarterback. Through Week 4, the Bears had only generated two sacks on the year as a team. Against Washington, though, that changed. Chicago took down quarterback Sam Howell five times on the night.

Chicago is still far from a finished product on the edge, though. They could use another pass rusher, and one guy who could be easily had is Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Derek Barnett. A former first-round pick, Barnett never truly panned out as a top-tier pass rusher. But, he's been a nice rotational piece for Philadelphia.

The last couple of years, Barnett's snaps and production have gone down. In 2022, he suffered a torn ACL and missed the majority of the season. This year, he's played just over 20 percent of snaps and has not registered a sack. But, in Chicago, he'd certainly have an opportunity.

The Bears could likely get Barnett for next to nothing, especially since he's hardly playing in Philadelphia thus far in 2023.
