Chicago Bears Week 5 Winner No. 3: Justin Fields

An honorary mention for winners goes to Teven Jenkins, Cole Kmet, and the defensive line for their improved pressure. With that said, the third biggest winner from this game was Justin Fields. After most fans and football analysts have written him off, he has really answered the call. He has thrown for a combined 617 yards and eight touchdowns over his last two games. This was after an 11/22, 99-yard, one touchdown, and one interception performance in Week 3 against the Chiefs.

It is important to note that the last two games have been against the bottom two defenses in the league. Still, the best way for an offense to find its grove is when they get to play porous defenses. They were able to exploit the weaknesses in both games and more importantly, Justin Fields was dominant. While he was not able to finish off the Broncos, he was able to connect with D.J. Moore for a dagger to put an end to the comeback.

Fields has thrown the ball with confidence and authority in these last two games. He looks very decisive and very sure of what he is seeing. Credit to the offensive staff and players for fixing some of the issues that plagued them to start the year, and credit to Fields for making the "tank for Caleb Williams" fans quiet up in the meantime. Now, the question is can he sustain this against teams that are not almost last in the league in terms of defense?
