Ranking Chicago Bears DEs likely to be cut after Yannick Ngakoue signing

3. Rasheem Green

The Chicago Bears brought in Rasheem Green on a one-year deal. The contract was only for $2.5 million. Some might think that the money is a reason for Green to remain on the 53-man roster but that shouldn't have anything to do with it. Green hasn't been showing up enough in training camp by any account. He is an average player at best and there are too many better options on the roster ahead of him.

Green is versatile and can play both over the tackle as an end or inside as a tackle. he just hasn't excelled at either position. His best year came with Seattle as an outside linebacker in 2021. He racked up 6.5 sacks and started 16 games. He had 27 solo tackles, six tackles for loss and 15 quarterback hits. He also generated 24 pressures.

Over a five-year career, Green has only sacked the quarterback 17 times. He only has three forced fumbles during that span too. When we look at the roster and what Green has done to this point in camp, he just seems like the next to likely be released. He also doesn't seem like a guy who would be put on the practice squad. Instead, he will more than likely be picked up by another team that lacks depth at the defensive end or outside linebacker spot.
