Ranking Chicago Bears DEs likely to be cut after Yannick Ngakoue signing

4. Terrell Lewis

Some might think that ranking Terrell Lewis over Rasheem Green here is a mistake. The thing is, Lewis has been showing up all camp. His name is constantly being mentioned when it comes to making impact plays and, unfortunately, it seems to be mostly against rookie offensive tackle, Darnell Wright. Lewis is only 25 and is coming off a three-year stint with the Los Angeles Rams. In L.A., Lewis was a linebacker and maybe the early signs at practice mean he's just better as a true defensive end.

Over his three-year career, Lewis has started seven games and played in 30. He has an interception, a forced fumble and six total sacks. He is actually coming off a down year when he only registered one sack and nine solo tackles. Terrell Lewis was a third-round draft pick, but has not amounted to enough to this point. We will need to see how he does against real competition next week when the Chicago Bears face off against the Colts in both joint practices and preseason.

The Chicago Bears signed Lewis to a one-year deal worth just under $1 million. Again, if you follow the money, you'd think Green has a better shot of making the final roster. Personally, I don't see that being the case though. I think Lewis' upside and the fact he's two years younger keeps him on the roster before Green. We will see in a few weeks.
