I know I said not to always follow the money, but when we look at DeMarcus Walker's contract, he is not going anywhere and is easily the biggest lock outside of Yannick Ngakoue to make the final roster. Walker received a three-year $21 million dollar contract this offseason. The Chicago Bears have an out after the 2024 season, but he's going to be here for at least two of those three years. Not to mention, he's made the most noise in training camp from the defensive end spot.

The only reason that Walker is included in these rankings as I do see him as a lock, is that he has not been practicing and has an undisclosed injury. It's possible that injury could be worse than we thought as the Chicago Bears signed Yannick Ngakoue shortly after DeMarcus Walker missed a couple of training camp practices. That could be coincidental but we don't know for sure because the Bears organization refuses to elaborate on any injuries right now.

If for some reason Walker's injury is that bad and he misses the start of the season, he will probably start the year on IR and not count against the 53-man roster. This could leave an early spot open for one of the guys ranked higher on this list, like Terrell Lewis, Dominique Robinson or Rasheem Green.
