3 Vonn Bell
Vonn Bell was the running mate to Jessie Bates in recent years. Based on role, he is more similar to Jaquan Brisker, and the two had identical rookie seasons.
Name | Tackles | Sacks | TFL | Hits | Approximate Value |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Jaquan Brisker | 104 | 4 | 5 | 4 | 4 |
Vonn Bell | 87 | 1 | 2 | 4 | 4 |
Von Bell has never been a Pro Bowl or All-Pro player, but he is now eight years into the NFL and has made playoff runs with the Saints and Bengals during his time. He just signed a strong contract with the Carolina Panthers after he priced himself out of the Bengals.
2. Taylor Rapp
Taylor Rapp was a late second-round pick who went 61st overall. His rookie season was his most tackles and a similar season to Jaquan Brosker.
Name | Tackles | Sacks | TFL | Hits | Approximate Value |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Jaquan Brisker | 104 | 4 | 5 | 4 | 4 |
Taylor Rapp | 100 | 0 | 3 | 2 | 6 |
If anything, Rapp is closer to Jonathan Cyprien in that he is a box player who will struggle in coverage. That limits his upside, but he had been a four-year starter for the Los Angeles Rams. Of course, that includes a Super Bowl win. He also just signed a new deal with the Buffalo Bills, although his deal is nothing like Vonn Bell or Jessie Bates this offseason.
1. Justin Reid
Justin Reid slipped barely into the third round, but he was able to get on the field right away and make an impact. Based on the style of play, there may not be a better comparison to what to expect from Jaquan Brisker than Justin Reid.
Name | Tackles | Sacks | TFL | Hits | Approximate Value |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Jaquan Brisker | 104 | 4 | 5 | 4 | 4 |
Justin Reid | 88 | 0 | 2 | 1 | 5 |
Reid has not been an All-Pro player, but he is now entering his sixth NFL season and has been a starter every year. He also signed a big free-agent deal last year and won a Super Bowl, a trend that Chicago Bears fans have to like seeing from these players.
Overall
Overall four of the eight names became All-Pro players. When we include Winfield soon, five of them will have signed top-of-the-market-level extensions, and even Vonn Bell has had a few nice contracts. Only Cyprien and Rapp did not hit that mark. Even better than that is seeing that four of them were starters to Super Bowl defenses, and Bell and Bates were as close as anyone. Collins has not had the teams, and Cyrpien had his career shortened.
Still, the players who compare best to Jaquan Brisker are winning players. That is what the Chicago Bears want to see.
