2. Braxton Jones is the left tackle of the future with the Chicago Bears

The reality is that while the Chicago Bears are giving Braxton Jones a real shot to prove himself at left tackle this season, they still are not fully committed to him as the future. They have two first-round picks next year, and they still have heaps of cap space to roll into the future.

When you consider that, they can easily upgrade left tackle if Braxton Jones does not take the step in year two. Still, Bears fans, coaches, and the front office are all dreaming about what could happen if he steps into that role and becomes the man.

Now, all of that money and draft equity we were just talking about does not need to go to offensive line and can make the rest of the roster better. The Chicago Bears will get solid tackle play for 2023 and have trust in a cheap tackle on a rookie salary for the two years after that. Of course, then there is the reality that tackle is one of the most important positions, and the growth of Jones could lead to a Justin Fields break out more than the addition of D.J. Moore.

The ripple efffect of this one development would be so huge.
