It may take some time but there will come a point when Eddie Jackson is remembered as one of the best players to ever play the position for the Chicago Bears.

Over the course of his first three seasons with the Bears, Jackson earned two Pro Bowl selections including being named to the All-Pro team in 2018. Jackon was the leader of a 2018 Bears' defense that carried the team into the playoffs.

Jackson's quick ascension toward being one of the best safeties in the NFL at the start of his career is the reason why there was much frustration with his play from Bears fans over the last three seasons.

Jackson hasn't played a full season since 2020 and has struggled with tackling during that same time period. While Jackson did compile four interceptions in 2022, he only collected 1 last season while only playing in 12 games.

The writing was on the wall at the end of the 2023 season that Jackson likely played his last game with the Bears and that was confirmed in February when he was released. In the weeks since, the Bears replaced Jackson with veteran Kevin Byard but Jackson has yet to find a new home.

While Jackson's next team is still to be determined, the veteran safety did take time out of his day this week to bid farewell to the city of Chicago.

Eddie Jackson will always be remembered for his time with the Chicago Bears.

Regardless of how Jackson's time with the Bears ended, he was an unquestioned leader in the locker room. Whether in the early years of Jaylon Johnson or recently with Tyrique Stevenson and Jaquan Brisker, Jackson has never been shy to welcome young secondary members on the team and show the way of life in the NFL. To that, for as much as Jackson wants to thank Bears fans, he deserves gratitude from the fanbase.
