1. Chicago Bears high-priced linebackers could help change the defense

One of the more shocking moves the Chicago Bears made was when they signed both TJ Edwards and Tremaine Edmunds in free agency. Edwards was a bargain, and fans thought that he could join Jack Sanborn for an experienced, yet cheap duo.

However, the team went big and doubled down with Tremaine Edmunds. Even in drafting Noah Sewell, it has the room stacked, and it has Sanborn going from a potential starter to just a special teams option.

It is clear that Matt Eberflus values his linebackers and the defense will revolve around them. We can finally see exactly what Eberflus wants to do, not what he can do with the pieces he had around. Both linebackers have sideline to sideline ability and both can get downhill in the run game.

Tremaine Edmunds is so long that he can block passing lanes in the middle of the field while Edwards is fast and sharp and makes tackles to the flats without giving up yards after the catch. The duo makes a lot of sense on paper and should be one of the best groups in the NFL.
