One thing to remember about the Chicago Bears under Ryan Poles is that they signed two free agents who ended up starting for the team just a week before training camp started. The roster is supposed to be better, but the point remains that the team will make moves to upgrade the team if needed.

Most fans would point to edge rushers quickly as a position that needs to be addressed. Who are some free-agent edge rushers that could end up fitting with the Chicago Bears?

5. Is it time for the Chicago Bears to call Yannick Ngaukoue

Earlier this offseason, we highlighted why the Chicago Bears are unlikely to sign Ngakoue, which is why he still sits at number five. However, I would get too much backlash if I did not list him at all. The reason against Ngauke is that he is a mercenary who will not be here for the rebuild.

He will only sign for the most money, lacks hustle, and is poor against the run. However, the reasons to sign him make sense as well. Coming from a productive season, he is the best pass rusher of any edge player available.

Ngaukoue sells out for sacks, but the Chicago Bears have a group of edge rushers who can do a lot of things besides get the big sack numbers. The Bears have the most cap space, and while he is not a long-term fix, nobody at this point is, and he provides an immediate fix.

The longer that Ngaukoue goes without being signed, the closer he will get to accepting the Chicago Bears terms. We will see if they get the job done.
