3. Should Chicago Bears sign Dennis Kelly

Dennis Kelly should be looked at in the same light as someone like Marcus Cannon. He does not have the Super Bowls, but from Philadelphia to Tennessee to Green Bay, he has been around a lot of winning football. He was with the Colts last year, and things did not work out for him.

Kelly has 54 career starts, but only seven of them came in the past two seasons. He is 33 years old, so a little younger than Cannon, and he knows his role as a reserve who can step up in a pinch.

What is best about Dennis Kelly is his role. He played 655 snaps at left tackle, and 2,543 snaps at right tackle. Kelly even has 428 snaps at right guard, and 126 snaps at left guard. So, he could step into any spot if needed. The left tackle snaps are most important, though, because the team does not have a true, trusted backup.

Dennis Kelly could not only fill on either side, but he also brings the same presence as Cannon as a player who has been in the NFL since 2012 and knows how to handle the day-in and day-out of the league. This is what Darnell Wright should have in his backup.
