3 free agent situations on Cincinnati Bengals for Chicago Bears fans to follow
2. Will the Chicago Bears find free agent offensive lineman to sign from the Bengals?
The big debate around the Cincinnati Bengals this offseason will be Jonah Williams. Williams was a former first-round pick playing on the fifth-year option. The Bengals asked him to move from left tackle to the right side, and he obliged. Still, that may impact his market. Does he want to move back? If so, the Chicago Bears would be wise to offer him a deal to compete with Braxton Jones and potentially reset his market value.
Meanwhile, there are two other depth options that could be good fits with the Bears. Both Max Scharping and Cody Ford will be free agents this offseason. Both are depth options, but both have also seen the field.
Scharping is a former second-round pick who just finished his fifth NFL season. He has 1,536 snaps at left guard, 884 snaps at right guard, 12 snaps at center, and three snaps at left tackle. The Bears need this combination of depth and versatility in the room.
Cody Ford is another former second-rounder with five NFL years of experience. He has 759 snaps at right tackle, 699 snaps at right guard, 575 snaps at left guard, and 18 snaps at left tackle.
Between the two, the Bears could improve the depth and have a couple of needs crossed off their list this offseason.
