The Chicago Bears have shifted their attention from the regular season to the offseason and now they will be at other teams rosters to find out which players may be getting away and become available this offseason.
The New Orleans Saints are seeing coordinator changes, and they may be shuffling the roster a bit. Who are some players who could become available?
6-5. Chicago Bears will be looking at these depth offensive line free agents
The New Orleans Saints' offensive line was not viewed as the best in the NFL, but they had some depth, and a lot of those pieces are free agents this offseason. If the Chicago Bears want to be serious about beefing up their offensive line, they have to establish better depth. Could they be shopping for some former New Orleans Saints?
Cameron Erving is a free agent who has been in the NFL since 2015. He did not live up to his top 20 pick billing, but he has established himself as a solid depth piece who has had to start at times. He only played 208 snaps last year, but he has 4,106 snaps in his career.
That comes with 1,514 at left tackle, 1,156 at left guard, 659 snaps at center, 407 at right guard, and 252 at right tackle. The versatility, especially at center is major. The Bears will be moving on from Cody Whitehair, and this could be a younger version with less pedigree but all of the versatility.
Max Garcia is another to look into. Garcia has been in the NFL since 2015, starting for a few years with Denver before being both depth and a starter with the Arizona Cardinals. Last year, he was with the Saints and played 320 snaps.
Most of his work was at left guard, which is where he has spent most of his career. Still, with 3,179 snaps at left guard, 1,011 snaps at right guard, and 303 at center, Garcia has the versatility needed as well. Teven Jenkins and Nate Davis need quality depth. Can these two fill those roles?
