4-3. The Chicago Bears could bring in two offensive line starters to compete or be a depth option
The Chicago Bears are most likely to have interest in the Saints’ offensive line depth. However, there are two starters who are going to be free agents this offseason as well. First, James Hurst. Hurst has played all four offensive line positions over the course of his career but has mainly played the left side, both at tackle and guard.
In 2022, he had 913 snaps at left tackle and just 58 at guard. This past year, he had 820 snaps at guard with 22 snaps at left tackle.
Andrus Peat is in a different spot. After 573 snaps and a career primarily at left guard, they moved to left tackle for 715 snaps last season. Peat has been up and down throughout his career but started to settle into left tackle as the season went on. Now, he is a free agent as well.
The Bears are shaky at both spots. Braxton Jones has been fine but has proven he could use a challenger this offseason. Injuries are the big story for Teven Jenkins. Would they want Hurst to come in and challenge one or both? These are two interesting free agents from the New Orleans Saints to keep an eye on.
