1. The Chicago Bears could find a safety in free agency from the Cleveland Browns

How the Chicago Bears handle the safety position will be interesting. The team released Eddie Jackson already, which saves them over $12.5M in cap space. Still, it leaves a hole in free safety. It seems unlikely but they should be looking into Rodney McLeod for the role.

The reason it is unlikely is that McLeod will be 34 next year and was mainly a depth option for the Browns last year. He is past the part of his career when he should be considered a reliable starter. However, the Bears do want to reduce costs this offseason. He looked fine in 280 snaps and started for the Colts in 2022. Could they sign him?

Some other names to consider are wide receivers Marquise Goodwin, James Proche, and Jakeem Grant. All of them could fit for the potential of return game value as upgrades over Trent Taylor. For Goodwin, it would be a familiar face returning to the team.
