2. The Chicago Bears could sign these defensive line options in free agency

The Chicago Bears have to focus on improving the edge rusher room this offseason. There are a couple of options for the Houston Texans. The best is Jonathan Greenard, who broke out with 12.5 sacks this year. He has the least likely chance of getting away from Houston, but they did just invest in Will Anderson, who may get credit for improving Greenard. If he gets away, he is a stellar fit.

Another interesting free agent is Derek Barnett. He was let go by the Eagles and joined the Texans for their playoff run. Still, it meant that the Chicago Bears did not claim him when they had a chance, to there may not be interest,

Lastly is Jerry Hughes, who has a relationship with newly hired defensive coordinator Eric Washington, dating back to their days together on the Buffalo Bills. Hughes is 36 and is coming off of a down year, but he was still more productive than someone like Rasheem Green and could fill that role.

Lastly, there are interior defensive options on the line. Sheldon Rankins may be out of the Bears' price range and looking for more playing time. However, if the team is looking for depth to replace Justin Jones, both Teair Tartt and Hasson Ridgeway come to mind. Both are more in the mold of depth nose tackles who can back up Andrew Billings next year, and that is what the team needs.
