2. Is this why Yannick Ngakoue signed so late into the summer?

Yannick Ngakoue does have a sack, so you can say that he is right on pace for his eight sacks per season. However, Chicago Bears fans may be seeing why Ngakoue is always a free agent never extended despite putting up stats for every team he plays for. He puts up stats, but does not change games. On Sunday, he got pressures, but consistently let Baker Mayfield slip through his fingers.

More than that, he had issues in the run game for a second straight week. Ngakoue would be best as a complimentary piece. However, on the Chicago Bears line, it is all eyes on him. This puts too much on a player who is better at cleaning things up than making everyone else on the line better.

It is tough to blame Ngakoue, because if the Bears had a better line around him, there would not be this high of expectations on him. Still, now that there are, he will need to become a better all around performer.
