1. The Chicago Bears depth is being tested with Lucas Patrick out

Lucas Patrick has been a major disappointment for the Chicago Bears. They signed him because he knew Luke Getsy well, and it backfired in a big way. Patrick has been out since August 6, so it will be over two weeks on Monday when the team gets back to practice.

He is supposed to be the backup center and a swing guard. Now, he has let Ja'Tyre Carter and Doug Kramer take all of the snaps that he was supposed to take. First, it was making him more expendable as these young players improved.

However, now Cody Whitehair is out. This is going to make the Bears need to push Patrick back. It is great when Kramer is getting snaps as the backup, but there is a bigger fear when the chances of him starting increase.

Whitehair may not have a significant injury, but the past two seasons have seen these injuries add up. Patrick has hardly seen the field since the Bears signed him. This is another one where you have to be concerned, even if the coaches sound optimistic. His track record does not grant the trust, and the team is already getting thin on the inside.
