The Chicago Bears just took care of business against the Los Angeles Rams - improving their record to 2-2 on the season. This was a nice team victory in all phases. Caleb Williams didn't throw for over 200 yards, but he took care of the football, and the running game got going with Roschon Johnson and D'Andre Swift. The defense kept the Rams under 20 points and had multiple turnovers again. Even Tory Taylor was dominant in this one.
One player who has not been able to make an impact on the field, but is helping as much as he can from week to week is backup quarterback Tyson Bagent. Before the Chicago Bears took care of business at home against the Rams, Bagent was able to put his skills to the test in a different manner.
Chicago Bears backup QB, Tyson Bagent ready to cook
Whistle, a DAZN-owned global sports media and entertainment company teamed Tyson Bagent up with chef Jonathan Zaragoza, on its latest original 'Let them Cook' series. The series takes athletes from the gridiron to cast iron. It is a short-form cooking show that features recipes you might want to cook up on game day.
Chef Zaragoza whipped up some buffalo wings with Bagent. While cooking, Zaragoza asked Bagent if he prefers stock or broth and Bagent admits he doesn't even know what the chef means by that.
What was an interesting question was when Chef Zaragoza asked Bagent if he was superstitious. I won't spoil the answer for you though - you'll have to give the YouTube short a listen by clicking the link above. What I will hint at is that it involves "drip-drop gummies."
Later on, Chef Zaragoza tells Tyson Bagent that they are going to season things up with some MSG and asks Bagent if he likes MSG. Again, Bagent has no clue what the chef is talking about, but Zaragoza does a great job asking Bagent if he likes Doritos. When Bagent replies yes, he tells Bagent he likes MSG. I'll be honest, I didn't know you could just add MSG like it was a seasoning.
What is great about this video is you get to see Bagent's personality shine through once again. We saw it at times on '1920 Football Drive' and also 'Hard Knocks.'
Bagent had this to say about the experience:
"Jonathan’s cooking was fire. I was better than I thought I’d be - learned a lot, but probably belong on the field after all. Much respect J, loved our banter, had a great time!"Tyson Bagent, Chicago Bears QB
This is not the only short that Whistle put together featuring Tyson Bagent. They also asked him about teammates regarding various food questions. Check that short out here!
