The NFL world moves pretty fast. Not long after the confetti fell for the Kansas City Chiefs’ third Super Bowl title in five seasons, the attention quickly shifted to the scouting combine, NFL free agency, the draft and the futures market in 2024.

Early bets are being placed on who will be named the AP NFL Most Valuable Player next season. The quarterback-dominated award once again features a bevy of signal-callers and Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields is toward the back of the pack.

Bettors were bullish on Fields as an MVP pick prior to last season, but the shine is off the Ohio State product and former first-round pick, whose future in Chicago is uncertain as the new league year approaches.

Here’s the full list of MVP odds for the 2024 season.

2024 NFL MVP odds

Justin Fields 2024 MVP odds

Fields is 17th on the MVP odds board, tied with Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff and Arizona Cardinals signal-caller Kyler Murray at +5000 ($100 bet wins $5,000), an implied probability of 1.96%.

Fields did little to cement his status as Chicago’s franchise quarterback last season, leading the Bears to a 5-8 record in 13 games. Fields threw for a career-high 2,562 yards to go with 16 touchdowns and 9 interceptions.

On the ground, Fields ran for 657 yards and four scores. Fields is one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the NFL and his 1,100-yard, 8-touchdown season in 2022 garnered a fifth-place MVP vote.

Fields outranks Caleb Williams in MVP market

Fields’ future is up in the air in Chicago, with speculation that general manager Ryan Poles could deal him. Speaking at the NFL Scouting Combine this week, Poles said the Bears would “do right” by Fields if a trade is completed.

Fields, despite being -900 (DraftKings) to play for the Bears next season, could be dealt with Chicago holding the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft via a trade with the Carolina Panthers prior to last season.

On FanDuel Sportsbook, the Bears are an overwhelming favorite (-1000) to keep the No. 1 overall pick and USC quarterback Caleb Williams is also a monster favorite (-1600) to be the first selection.

Williams, the Heisman Trophy Award winner in 2022, is +15000 ($100 bet wins $15,000) to win the MVP, an implied probability of 0.66%.
