2. The Chicago Bears should shut down the Denver Broncos pass rush
The Denver Broncos traded Bradley Chubb, and they have not been able to rebound since. For the most part, the Broncos now shuffle Randy Gregory and Jonathan Cooper as their starters, and Nick Bonitto mixes in as well.
Gregory usually gets the weaker tackle of the two, and Cooper has been the better of the two. Gregory should see a decent bit of Larry Borom, while Darnell Wright will get Jonathan Cooper.
Say what you want, Jalen Carter is better than him, but Darnell Wright is a pretty good player. He has seen big names like Rashan Gary, Shaq Barrett, and George Karlaftis so far this season. He even saw some Chris Jones out on the edge against him. He lost to Chris Jones, and Gary had some wins, but overall, Darnell Wright has held his own this season.
Now, this is one of the weaker matchups that Wright will see this season. It will not be easy, but at least it gives Wright a chance to breathe, catch himself, and potentially grow rather than tread water for the first couple of weeks of the season.
The Broncos pass rush does not have the name value to concern the Chicago Bears in ways that other teams have this season. The Bears line does not have to prove to be elite; that will not happen. However, we cannot see Randy Gregory or Jonathan Cooper as the reason the team is losing this game.
