Week 2 result: Loss against Houston Texans, 19-13

The score does not represent just how wide the gap is between where the Bears are and where the Texans are. The Bears were getting dominated in the trenches as the Texans' offensive line had their way with the Bears' offensive line. Had it known been a lack of discipline, the Texans would have routed the Bears on Sunday night.

As long as the Bears have Caleb Williams running for his life, the team can not be taken seriously. Even more problematic is the fact that the Bears ignored upgrading the offensive line this past offseason. The Bears welcomed two rejects from the Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Rams as if they were Pro-Bowl caliber offensive linemen. There was a lot to like from the Bears' offseason, but a failure to upgrade the offensive line will leave a lasting impression.
