Now that the Bears have a franchise cornerstone in Tory Taylor, I imagine that fans aren't too worried about what's going on with star players far away in the AFC West. But for the uninitiated: ol' friend Davante Adams wants out, and the Raiders seem more than willing to make it happen.
Between now and the moment he's traded to the Jets, there's going to be a ton of speculation about what any Adams trade will look like. He's been one of the most prolific wide receivers in football over the last 10 years, and doesn't look like he's slowing down this season. With that being said, he's a 32-year old receiver who's been taking hits across the middle for a decade – to say he's on the back 9 of his career is probably an understatment at this point. Back 3?

Where do the Bears come into this? Are they actually serious contenders? (No.) Why did you have to read 300 words of introduction? All good questions. In Albert Breer's latest mailbag/column/thing, he looks at how the Bears, weirdly enough, could have given the NFL the map for what any future Adams trade may look like. King Poles does it again.
Bears are the blueprint for any Davante Adams trade the Raiders want to make
"Allen is eight months older than Adams. He went for more catches and yards (108/1,243) than Adams 103/1,144) last year. He’s in a contract year (Adams basically is, too, with the way his contract is structured). Allen was traded in March from the Chargers to the Bears for a fourth-round pick ... So I’d say the Raiders can probably get a third-rounder for Adams, with some teams involved just going fishing in offering a fourth."
There you go! For roughly what the Bears gave up for Keenan Allen, they could have waited and gotten Davante Adams! What a wonderful thought exercise for Bears fans. Fortunately for them, Allen has 48 receiving yards this season, so the Bears are doing absolutely fine. Watching Aaron Rodgers once again move heaven and earth to get a receiver he wants to play with never gets old! Aren't you glad you clicked on this story?
