Remember when the Bears were winning football games? And everyone was having a nice time? Believe or not there was a time this season when it was fun to watch the Bears, and it's important to keep those memories front of mind as you read the rest of this blog.

Reader, things are bleak. The Bears offense looks terrible, both in scheme and execution. The Colts have arguably the worst run defense in the entire league – by a wide margain – and the Bears only managed 41 yards on the ground in the first half. They got to the Colts' one-yard line twice and somehow went into halftime with zero (0) points. You know things are bad when random Twitter accounts are complaining about Shane Waldron's game script.

On top of it all, Caleb Williams has looked awfully pedestrian – and that's putting it nicely. Williams' first month with the Bears hasn't been quite as exciting/life-changing as everyone expected it to be, and on Sunday, Richard Sherman gave his two cents on some of the concerning signs he's seen from the rookie QB so far.

Richard Sherman's read on Caleb Williams should make Bears fans nervous

Bears fans have been hearing everyone talk about how the game moves to fast for their franchise quarterback for approximately the last 230 years, so you can't really blame them for freaking out when someone – especially a former player who would definitely know – brings it up. Of course it's only the third game, and we'll probably all regret blogging about Richard Sherman tweets, but this isn't great. Williams' ability to already process at the NFL level was one of the bigger reasons the Bears took him first overall, so hearing analysts talk about that as a negative doesn't feel all that great.

Maybe this is all just overwrought panic. My guess is Sherman knows exactly what he's doing – Bears fans on Twitter are an easy mark. But anytime a Bears QB looks like the game is moving too fast, there's always a little temptation to go peruse next year's mock drafts. If you're one of those people who waits for Richard Sherman's tweets before you develop your own take, you're on the clock now.
