1. Should the Chicago Bears sign David Edwards?

David Edwards is another great fit when you factor in his age and experience. He is going to be 26 years old next season, and he has 3,315 snaps played. Beyond that, he may fit the Chicago Bears better than Nate Davis.

Edwards has 2,741 snaps at left guard, and 542 at right guard. So, he would be a seamless fit replacing Cody Whitehair. He is probably going to come in cheaper than Whitehair and his current salary, but at his age, the team should get an upgrade moving forward,

The only real question with David Edwards is that the team shut him down early last season due to a concussion. Edwards missed a few weeks, tried to come back, and had more symptoms. By the time he tried to come back again, the Rams were out of it.

They may have shut him down for his own good, knowing they had no shot this season. Still, it is alarming when a player is on injured reserve with a concussion since October. On one hand, if he has passed the doctors' tests, and he wants to play football again, this is not an injury that takes a certain amount of recovery time, like an ACL.

On the other, maybe he is not in the right head space to play, that is a pretty scary situation he had to have gone through. If he does play, and he is available, he may be the best fit with the Chicago Bears with the short and long-term implications in mind.
