One Bears stat proves how quickly Caleb Williams is becoming a franchise QB

Bears fans didn't exactly need convincing, but it's nice to hear anyway.

We're one quarter of the way though the season, and so far the Caleb Williams discourse has been kinda weird. Even for Bears' QBs, the tone around his first month of professional football has felt ... panicked? Impatient? Again, it's not all that surprising considering where he plays, but it's seemed like the tone hasn't entirely matched the performance. There have been plenty of underwhelming performances through the first four games of the Williams Era, but aside from the Texans game, things have gone fine at QB.

And besides the 12 Packers fans who need to bend over backwards finding a reason to be critical of Bears QBs, most everyone's been on the same page about Williams – he's flashed more than enough to be optimistic, even if the gaudy numbers aren't showing up quite yet. The good news for Bears fans is that the tape watchers and the box score readers are actually on the same page about this one? And if you don't think Williams is improving at a remarkable pace, I've embedded some lovely digestable Tweets below that may convince you otherwise. Or you're one of those 12 Packers fans, and I'm not really sure what you're doing here?

Caleb Williams' progress as the Bears' QB1 is quite literally linear

Look how green that column is! Nothing bad can come from a column that green. BTT! TWP! TWP but with a % next to it! Williams has been better at all of those, and more, over the last two weeks. The best part about it? The eye test people would generally agree. Williams has been more and more vocal at the line each week, and it's clear that the Bears – for better and for worse – threw Williams in the deep end are letting him learn on the fly.

As the saying goes, progress isn't linear. It won't be surprising to see a stinker or two from Williams this season, because that's how it goes for every rookie quarterback ever, except Jayden Daniels apparently. But right now, Williams' progress is linear – to a tee. If he's going to continue making this type of jump every two weeks or so, the Bears are going to have a bonafide star by the time Williams plays his first end-of-season Packers game.
