1. The Chicago Bears might start Greg Stroman vs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This may end up being what the Chicago Bears do. They would keep Tyrique Stevenson and Jaylon Johnson on the outside, then start Greg Sroman in the slot.

The pros are that this is what the plan was this summer. Stroman was the third-string slot cornerback. He started in the slot when Kyler Gordon was rested and because Blackwell was still banged up. So, it would make sense that he would be the next man up. It requires no movement for Stevenson, and it means that Smith does not have to make his NFL debut in a position he never played before.

The cons are that Stroman has hardly played in the NFL since 2018. He is the third sting slot cornerback for a reason. There is a chance that he is good, but he has missed the majority of the 2019-2021 seasons due to injuries. This is not who you want to trust. Beyond that, with Smith and Stevenson, you can at least try to play matchups with Chris Godwin. If Stroman is in the slot, and Godwin stays in the slot, there is not much moving around they do.
