10 major questions Chicago Bears must answer week 2 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
1. Will Justin Fields push the ball down the field for the Chicago Bears?
It was weird that Justin Fields did not push the ball down the field much in week one. Sure, it had a lot to do with the interior offensive line. Fields knew he had limited time, and Luke Getsy was scheming things up to protect his offensive line.
Still, Justin Fields is a big playhunter, and he lives off of making things happen down the field. Taking that away from him is making him do things he is not used to. Can the Chicago Bears get back to their old ways of letting Fields rip it down the field this week? The Bucs interior rush is tough, but Getsy now has a chance to scheme around these issues. At the same time, there were a few plays to be had, and Fields was not looking for them.
If he continues to ask Fields to do things he is not good at, the Bears will continue to lose. If he can adjust after one week, the Bears have a shot against this defense. What will we see from Getsy and Field? Will Getsy call more downfield shots, and will Fields keep his eyes down the field this week?
