10 major questions Chicago Bears must answer week 2 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
7. Will the Chicago Bears interior offensive line start to gel?
The Chicago Bears lost this game upfront. The Green Bay Packers had Kenny Clark and Devonte Wyatt in the backfield all game against this interior offensive line. It should be no surprise, though.
Lucas Patrick and Nate Davis did not practice all preseason, and they have never played with each other. It was never going to come together on the fly that quickly. Cody Whitehair spent the summer at center and now has to move back to guard. He also has a hand injury.
Still, a unit that has issues with continuity at least got a game of continuity together. Now, they move to the second straight week of practice, and they should have been able to watch the tape and learn their tendencies more. The line cannot be much worse, but the timing together should make it better. The question is, how much better? Logan Hall is a second-round pick in his second year. Devonte Wyatt looked like a second-year breakout after his game against the Bears. Then, there is Vita Vea, who wins differently than Kenny Clark but will be just as tough. Does this unit have the Chicago Bears doomed?
