10 major questions Chicago Bears must answer week 2 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
4. Should the Chicago Bears mix in their second round rookies more?
When the Chicago Bears passed on Jalen Carter in the draft, the thought was that between Gervon Dexter and Zacch Pickens, they could find someone who is capable of filling that role, and it was easier to draft them than a right tackle in round two. So far, we have not seen much from Dexter and Pickens, while Carter has been the best rookie through one week.
Justin Jones was not effective, and while Andrew Billings can defend the run, he cannot get after the passer. The Chicago Bears might as well see what they have in these two. Gevron Dexter played 23 snaps and Pickens played 12. Meanwhile, Jones played 39 snaps and Billings played 33. Will we start to see a shift in that as the weeks go by, and will it start this week? How much more will the two rookies take on?
