10 questions emerging from the Chicago Bears loss to the Kansas City Chiefs
1. Is Roschon Johnson about to leap Khalil Herbert for the Chicago Bears?
Every week we have been tracking this, and every week we have seen the duo get split more and more in favor of Roschon Johnson. After week three, it will get hard for Johnson to gain anymore without being the lead man.
In week one, he had 37% of the rushing attempts. In week two, it was up to 43%. Then last week, it was up to 45%. This week, Khalil Herbert saw a drop. He went from 36% to 59% from week one to week two, but that is mainly tied to D'onta Foreman being inactive.
In week three, he went from 59% of the snaps down to 55%. His rushing attempts dropped as Johnson saw his increase as well. It could be because of the blowout, but it is easier to think it is because the team wants to see what Johnson can bring.
Johnson has 17 carries for 90 yards and a touchdown, while Herbert has 23 carries for 93 yards. Herbert has six catches for 64 yards, while Johnson has ten catches for 56 yards. The split may be slow, but it will continue. What do we see in week four?
