Black Monday has come and gone, and the Chicago Bears still employ Matt Eberflus as their head coach. There are now eight head coach openings around the league, including the New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks, and Los Angeles Chargers.
In many ways, it's a surprise that Eberflus is still around in Chicago. The team improved in 2023 but failed to reach the playoffs once again. However, Eberflus' defense did take a major step forward, and clearly, the front office saw enough to stick with the coach for one more year.
Today, I want to go over a few reasons why the Bears are better off keeping Eberflus at this point.
