Round 5, Pick No. 136: Chase Brown, Running Back, Illinois

Despite recent signings of both D'Onta Foreman and Travis Homer, the Bears shouldn't shy away from grabbing another quality running back in this year's draft. They don't have to go far in this mock draft, selecting Illinois back Chase Brown.

Brown provides the Bears with a talented passing back, which they need in this running back room. He was a productive back for Illinois last season as a runner as well. He'd need to prove his ability to run on the outside, but Brown could be a solid rotational back for the league's number one rushing offense.

Round 5, Pick No. 148: Jakorian Bennett, Cornerback, Maryland

If the Bears want blazing speed out of their secondary, then they need to select Jakorian Bennett, The Maryland defensive back ran a 4.30 40-yard dash in this year's NFL Combine. He uses that speed well in coverage, combining that speed with good change of direction and exceptional ball tracking. The Bears need some talented depth in their secondary in 2023, and Bennett could find a nice role early in head coach Matt Eberflus' defense.
