Ryan Poles delivers on his promises with this latest 2023 NFL Mock Draft
Round 7, Pick No. 218: Brenton Strange, Tight End, Penn State
Signing Robert Tonyan provides the Bears with two veteran tight ends in him and Cole Kmet, but there's nothing wrong with added some young talent behind these two. Strange's high RAS score and 6'5", 210 pound frame would make him a solid addition to the Bears offense. His value will be in the run game initially, as Strange was a great run blocker in college.
Round 7, Pick No. 258: Jake Moody, Kicker, Michigan
The Bears round out this mock draft by selecting one of the most talented kickers in this year's draft. Moody was perfect on extra points in college, and he ended his career in Michigan completing over 80% of his field goals. It may be a bit of a stretch, but Poles has shown his willingness in drafting special team aces when he selected punter Trenton Gill last season. Moody puts pressure on current Bears placekicker Cairos Santos, who would save the team around $3 million should he be cut.
